P16 starts from company disclosures and preserves the distinction between what a filing reports and how P16 organizes it for comparison.
Company and annual filing
The fiscal-year label comes from the issuer’s annual filing. A reportable segment is counted only when a P16 segment_disclosure row is classified as reportable_segment. A single_segment_whole_company record is kept as a distinct reporting case.
Reported business and Business Identity
A reported segment is the business grouping shown in a filing. P16 Business Identity links business disclosures across years when its evidence and mapping rules support continuity. A renamed, split, merged or recast business may change the link; it is not treated as automatically identical.
Revenue, profit and change
Revenue and profit values remain tied to source period, metric, unit and evidence. This report counts distinct P16 identities on reportable-segment records and does not derive company totals or revenue shares from segment sums.
Missing and non-comparable data
No P16 row is not the same as a statement that the issuer disclosed nothing. Missing, not disclosed, unresolved and not comparable remain distinct states; blank aggregate cells are not interpreted as zero.
Snapshot and refresh process
The public figures are regenerated locally from a pinned Production-compatible serving database and a release manifest. Refreshes are manual; no paid data service or runtime model is used. Snapshot date and database hash identify the input.
